Kansas City Tragedy: Family Members Identified in Northland Murder-Suicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  Three individuals were discovered deceased in a residence in the Northland area of Kansas City, and authorities are treating the case as a potential murder-suicide, as per Kansas City Police Department (KCPD).

The individuals were identified as family members, namely Domonique and Jerel McGeachy, who were the parents of Jerel Jr.

Preliminary findings from KCPD indicate that both Domonique and Jerel Jr. sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

It appears that Jerel Sr. took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At present, investigators do not suspect the involvement of any other individuals, and inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

The incident came to light around 9:45 a.m. on Monday, when KCPD responded to a residence on NW 90th Street near 152 Highway and Green Hill Road in Kansas City. The initial call was prompted by concerns over Jerel Jr.’s absence from school and an employee’s failure to report to work.
